People Highlight
Give a spotlight to a key person
Demo - Name
Here, you can outline their professional experience, skills, and expertise. This could include previous roles and successes that led them to their current position.
You may also want to mention their day-to-day responsibilities in the team, perhaps along with their values, ethos, and main motivations.
Use paragraphing to avoid blocks of copy, and keep it engaging and informative. You can choose to override the existing biography for an individual page, so it is tailored to support that content.

Overview
Give a spotlight to a key person
The People Highlight is an engaging way to present information about an individual, helping to build credibility and trust.
As well as their name and job title, you can add the following information to their profile:
- Team
- Contact details
- Portrait photo
- Biography
How to use it
Creating a People Highlight involves a two-step process. For the component to work, the stakeholder must first have an entry in the People Directory – a library of Howden profiles.
Follow steps 1 to 4 to make a new people directory entry from scratch. If your stakeholder already has an entry, you can skip to step 5.
Step 1: Add a new People Directory entry
To start a new entry, select:
- Content → People Directory → Add people
Step 2: Complete the personal details section
You must provide the stakeholder’s name and role. You can also choose to add further details, including their:
- Team
- Email address
- Telephone number
- LinkedIn profile
Step 3: Add the stakeholder’s biography
The biography should outline the stakeholder’s responsibilities and achievements.
Keep it short and avoid large blocks of text. Keep to under 100 words (600 characters).
Step 4: Add a headshot of the stakeholder
Make sure it's a high-quality image that shows your subject matter expert in their best light. Make sure both their clothes and expression look professional.
For best results, follow the recommended image requirements:
- Background – white
- Dimensions – 700px x 700px
Once you’ve added the headshot, select ‘save’. Check that the profile is published (the 'Published' box will be ticked before you save). If it isn't, you won't be able to connect their profile.
Step 5: Select the People Directory entry
Add the People Highlight component to your page. Use the search bar to find your stakeholder’s profile. Then select ‘save’.
Optional step: Write a bespoke biography
You can override the existing bio with unique text that’s tailored for your page. Add this to the ‘override biography’ text field.
Use a maximum of 60 words (350 characters).
Optional step: Translate profiles to use on foreign language sites
When using profiles on a foreign language website, they need to have the relevant domain suffix. For example:
- /it-it
- /es-es
- /fr-fr
Without this, they won’t work.
Profiles must also be written in the appropriate language for the country.
Find your profile in the People Directory. Then select:
- Edit → Translate → Add (choose relevant country)
This creates a new profile within the chosen domain, with the required domain suffix. The profile will also be translated into the domain’s language.

Do's and don'ts
Do
Check the profile is published
You won’t be able to feature an unpublished People Directory entry.
Don't
Don’t use low-res images
Poor-quality images can look blurry or stretched. Instead, use high-quality (and evenly-lit) headshots.
