Overview

Present podcasts and audio content

The Podcast Feature gives you another way to tell your story and provide additional information. Podcasts can be used in a couple of different ways.

As the main feature

This approach typically involves embedding the podcast into an article page. The text on the page supports and promotes the podcast.

In a supporting role

You can add a relevant podcast to a page, such as a product page. This provides additional information and context for the interested, but listening isn't essential for understanding the page.

How to use it

Step 1: Upload your podcast to a hosting platform

Large podcast files can negatively impact page speed, a key ranking factor. To prevent this, upload the podcast to a hosting platform and embed the link into the page.

Our CMS supports the following podcast hosting platforms:

If you would like to use a different hosting platform, raise a ticket with the Collaboration & Client Solutions team.

Step 2: Copy the embed code

Once you have uploaded the podcast to the platform, find the embed code. It should look like this:

Copy the code – you’ll need it for the next step.

Step 3: Paste the embed code into the Podcast Feature

Select the Podcast Feature component. Then paste the embed code you copied in the previous step into the ‘embed code’ text field.

Step 4: Save the page

When you save the page, the podcast will appear. Play the podcast to make sure it works correctly (and is the one you intended to embed).

You may find that the podcast doesn't load. If this happens, check your cookies. Cookies must be active in your browser for the Podcast Feature to work.

Do

  • Use high-quality audio

Make sure the podcast audio is clear and free from background noise.

  • Embed the podcast into the page

Embedding the podcast helps to maintain a fast page speed.

Don't

  • Don’t enable auto-playing audio

This can disrupt the user experience.

  • Don’t upload too many podcasts

Too many embedded files can reduce page speed.
