Overview

Boost conversions with a fixed call to action bar

The Sticky CTA is a fixed banner that follows users through their page navigation. The banner is unobtrusive but always prominent, helping to boost user engagement and conversion rates. Before you can use the Sticky CTA, you must have a form ready to link to.

There are several other call-to-action components available, including:

How to use it

Step 1: Make your form

Put in a form request to the Collaboration & Client Solutions team – they’ll help you to build a bespoke form.

When making a form request, you’ll need to specify:

  • Which format you want (e.g. text boxes or dropdowns)
  • Required text fields (determined by the data you wish to collect)
  • The email address submissions should be sent to

Follow these links to put in a form request:

Step 2: Connect your form

The Sticky CTA supports two buttons:

  • Primary button – your most important action, such as a contact form
  • Secondary button – encourages an additional action, like downloading a brochure

Use the ‘primary button link’ and ‘secondary button link’ text fields to link to the form. Start typing the name of your form and select it from the dropdown menu.

Step 3: Add the button copy

Choose the appropriate button text for your primary and secondary buttons using the respective dropdown menus.

Your button copy must follow UX best practices. Effective button copy is clear and actionable. Good examples include:

  • Get in touch
  • Register now
  • Get a quote
  • Start assessment

Step 4: Write the call to action heading

The heading for your call to action bar should set up the action you want users to take. The Sticky CTA neatly supports up to 13 words (80 characters). This means you can craft a line that's closely tailored to the user's situation. For example:

  • Take the first step to a Howden career. Contact us now
  • Cyber criminals won't wait. Get a quote today
  • Tell us your [product name] challenges. We will help solve them

Don'ts

  • Don’t use more than once per page

If you want more calls to action, use the standard Call to Action Bar or the Contextual Call to Action Bar.

  • Don't let the heading run to two lines

This adds too much depth and can obstruct content for the user.
